Raquel García is an undergraduate at the University of São Paulo and has worked as a graphic and surface designer for the past year. Her work in the fashion industry provided perspective on the negative impact of mass production on a linear economy, and she is currently shifting her focus to research ways to reduce waste generated by food packaging by eliminating the single-use culture. She firmly believes that designers have a big part in shaping the future by ensuring the sustainability of their projects and is interested in the challenge of aligning culture, social and environmental responsibility and innovation in the design process.
