Oswin Yeung Hin recently graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor Degree in Architectural Study. During the degree, he was exposed not only to the field of architectural design but to the chance to work on projects in a smaller scale like furniture design. It was here when he discovered that his passion for design was not limited to Architecture, but also, specifically, to Innovative Product Design. Upon his final year, he had an idea to design a Household Smart Pill Dispenser as his side interest. He soon became experienced in electronic development and fabricated a working prototype in less than 3 months. Having won the Seed Fund Competition (Dreamcatchers 100K HKU) with the project, it has opened up his path into the startup industry. He has now found the startup Kin Technology Limited to continue the development of this idea with a talented team.

Coming from a design background, he felt that designers have the potential to impact the society positively on a greater scale. “Our creativity should not be limited to the aesthetic aspect but also designing innovative solutions that help to resolve critical problems around us”. He hopes to see more designers like himself getting involved in the startup industry that looks for innovative design solutions to create a better future.
