Introduction
The first edition of the Roca One Day Design Challenge in Indonesia reunited over 130 young architects and designers. The competition, was celebrated on Saturday 14th September in Jakarta.
The concept established as a premise for the participants in Indonesia as to design or redesign new bathroom products that are easier to clean and difficult to dirty.
Water Droplet, by Fellicia Amanda, from Universitas Katolik Parahyangan, was choosen as the winner project. It offers an easier way to do multiple activities while maintaining the water volume usage
Faiz Fadhul and Vienna Lisdiani Ramdaniah won the second prize with their project Wastaball. The jury highlighted the good balance between form and function, originality and good presentation.
The third prize was for Water Shell by Samuel Rianto and Novria Chianada. The jury recognized it for being an excellent innovation solution to the problem of sanitary and water that is so typical for an Asian country, especially in Indonesia.
This project received also the additional prize from the We Are Water Foundation. They highlighted the shape because it’s very compact and it can be a modular system that can be transported to remote areas, which is the main objective of the We Are Water Foundation.

EKO PRIHARSENO
Known as a multitalented interior designer who owns a firm called AEDI, Eko Priharseno is not only good at designing a room but he is also good at and known for his contemporary painting, graphic designs and product designs.
IMELDA AKMAL
Imelda Akmal is an architect who studied Architectural History, Theory and Critique at AA School of Architecture in London. She established Imelda Akmal Architectural Writer Studio (IAAW Studio) in accordance with her commitment to introduce architects and their work to local and international audiences through books.
NUARISTA EDI NUGRAHA
He is the Leader of the Interior Designer Association Jakarta and also a Professor of Interior Design in several Universities. He is known for his vast experience in the field of Interior Design.
YUNI JIE
Graduated from Cornish College of the Arts, Seattle and Pratt Institute, New York, Yuni Jie is an acclaimed Indonesian interior and product designer, celebrated for her casual and elegant style. She was a finalist in the International Young Creative Entrepreneur of the Year award, held by the British Council.
Emilio Ferrer
During his 25 years of working at Roca, he held the positions of Marketing Director for 14 years, and Corporate Product Manager for 7 years, where he was responsible for Roca products worldwide, before being appointed to lead the Indonesian Project in 2015 and becoming Operations Director the year after. In his spare time, he enjoys reading and hiking.
He is joyfully blessed with a wife, 2 beautiful daughters and a granddaughter.
