Introduction
On November 11th 2019, Expo Baño Sofia hosted the second edition of the Roca One Day Design Challenge in Bulgaria, with the participation of young architects and designers.
On this occasion, the briefing consisted of designing a bathroom product to improve the wellness experience. All proposals had to improve the health of users, be adaptable to already existing bathroom spaces, and favour easycleaning and maintenance.
The winning project of the first prize, awarded with 2,000 BGN, was Steam, by Desislava Petrova and Lilya Ivanova. The project consisted of a washbasin with a facial steaming device that saves 50% of the water used in a normal face washing. According to the jury, this was a project that met all criteria. It was both original, achievable, it had a unity of function and form and it was very well presented and explained.
The second and third prizes of 1,000 and 600 BGN went to Happy Feet by Krastyo Kalachev and to Project DNA by Rosen Ficherov.
